How to store hydrosol?

The pH value of hydrosols falls between 2.9-6.5, depending on different plants. If stored properly, it can be stored for 12-24 months. For some plants with a high ratio of antibacterial and antifungal components, hydrosols can even be stored for more than two years without any problem. But because hydrosol is an organic aqueous solution, there are many opportunities that may cause contamination of the hydrosol. After purchasing hydrosol, try to keep it in a constant environment, especially maintaining a constant temperature. The humid environment in Taiwan is prone to mold growth, so it is generally recommended to store it in cold storage. However, if the environment at home is clean and dry, and the temperature does not change much, it can also be placed in a dark and cool space without light. As long as the ambient temperature of the hydrosol is not allowed to rise or fall, and the mouth of the bottle is kept sealed and does not open or close, in principle, it is pure The storage of dew is the same as that of essential oils. It should be kept away from light, oxygen and high temperature. In addition, purchasing hydrosols that have been micro-filtered can also be stored for a longer period of time.


How to use hydrosol

  • Toner: Spray directly or dampen a cotton pad and pat on face, no need to dilute.
  • Diffuse: Pour it into a water-oxygen machine or a candle-heated ceramic diffuser. The aroma will be unexpectedly gentle and charming.
  • Space spray: It can be diluted or bottled directly and used as a space spray to add fragrance, cool down, or boost energy.
  • Mouthwash: Mix hydrosol suitable for oral health care with water in a ratio of 1:4, hold it in your mouth, and spit it out after gargling.
  • Bath: In a bathtub or footbath, add two tablespoons to about half a cup of hydrosol.
